Packaging a Planet-Friendly Brand: The Birth of Recyclapack

At PHd Design, we’re always up for a challenge, especially when it involves saving the planet one biodegradable fork at a time. So, when our latest client approached us with their vision for Recyclapack—a company dedicated to selling eco cutlery and food packaging—we rolled up our sleeves, donned our thinking caps, and got to work. The result? A brand that’s as green as Kermit the Frog and as innovative as Jeff Bezos’s next venture.
The Brief: Green Dreams and Packaging Schemes
The brief was straightforward: create a brand from scratch that screams “eco-friendly” without being, well, trashy. Our client had a clear mission—sell sustainable, recyclable cutlery and packaging to the eco-conscious consumer. They needed a name, a logo, and a brand identity that would resonate with their target market and clearly communicate their green credentials.
The Name Game: Introducing Recyclapack
First up, the name. We wanted something catchy, memorable, and instantly indicative of the brand’s eco ethos. After a brainstorm that involved copious amounts of fair-trade coffee and recycled paper, we landed on Recyclapack. It’s clever, it’s punchy, and it perfectly encapsulates what the business is all about—recycling and packaging.
Logo Logic: Green, Recyclable, and Boxy
Next, we tackled the logo. The challenge was to create a symbol that visually represented both recycling and packaging. Our design team went through several iterations (all on recycled sketch pads, naturally) before arriving at the winning design: a reimagined recyclable logo intertwined with a box. This logo isn’t just a nod to the recyclable nature of the products but also a clever visual representation of packaging. It’s simple, it’s effective, and it’s green—literally.
Colour Me Eco
Speaking of green, we knew the brand’s colour palette had to reflect its eco-friendly values. Green was the obvious choice, but we didn’t stop there. We selected a range of complementary earthy tones to give the brand a grounded, natural feel. This palette not only reinforces the eco message but also stands out in the market, making Recyclapack instantly recognisable.
The Final Touches: Bringing it All Together
With the name, logo, and colour scheme sorted, we moved on to the finer details. We created a brand guide that outlines how Recyclapack should be presented across all mediums, from their website to their business cards. This ensures that the brand maintains a consistent, professional appearance, no matter where it’s seen.
The Result: A Brand That Stands Out
The final product is a brand that’s fresh, modern, and undeniably green. Recyclapack is now well-equipped to make waves in the eco-friendly packaging market, and we’re thrilled to have been a part of their journey.
