A Fresh, Clean Start for Mid-Warwickshire Cleaning Supplies

Our Work 28th March 2025

Mid-Warwickshire Cleaning Supplies logo in full colour, representing a modern and professional brand identity.

When Mid-Warwickshire Cleaning Supplies came to us, they wanted more than just a fresh coat of paint – they needed a total brand overhaul. From a revamped logo to sleek new packaging, a fully reimagined website, and eye-catching van fleet livery, they were after a design that matched their business ambition.

The challenge? Making cleaning supplies look as clean and professional as the services they offer, while ensuring the brand stood out in a competitive market. Here’s how we rolled up our sleeves and created a design identity that shines.

Branding with Purpose: The M and W Logo

Let’s talk logos. The logo is often the first touchpoint of a brand, and it needed to be bold yet functional. Our starting point was a clean and simple design that represented both the “M” and “W” in Mid-Warwickshire Cleaning Supplies. We wanted it to be instantly recognisable, and we achieved this by cleverly weaving the two letters together into one dynamic shape – it’s both a mark of distinction and a clever visual cue that ties back to the company’s name.

We didn’t just stop there. The logo’s design needed to be versatile, looking sharp on everything from a business card to a fleet of vans, packaging, and digital platforms. Mission accomplished.

Packaging Design that Pops (and Gets Noticed)

Let’s face it – the cleaning supply market can be a bit, well, uninspiring. So, we took this opportunity to break away from the norm and introduce a packaging design that’s not only functional but also stylish and engaging. The goal was to make each product as appealing as it is practical, ensuring that customers could identify the products quickly, even from a distance. We used bold typography, sharp graphics, and a consistent colour palette that ties back to the brand’s new identity.

But there’s more to packaging than just looking good. It’s about telling a story – and with each box, bottle, or label, we made sure the brand’s reliability and professionalism were at the forefront. Clean, clear, and simple. Just like the products themselves.

A Website that Works as Hard as They Do

Next, we tackled the Mid-Warwickshire Cleaning Supplies website. The company needed an online presence that reflected the quality of service they provide while offering users a seamless experience. We designed a website that’s as easy to navigate as it is visually appealing, using the newly revamped branding elements throughout.

We incorporated intuitive features such as easy-to-find product categories, clear calls-to-action, and a responsive design that works smoothly on mobile and desktop. But most importantly, we made sure the website felt professional, trustworthy, and modern – because when people are choosing a cleaning supply company, they want to know they’re working with the best.

Van Fleet Livery: Clean on the Road

When Mid-Warwickshire Cleaning Supplies’ vans hit the road, we wanted them to be just as eye-catching as the new branding. With the same bold and clean design elements, the fleet now stands out wherever they go. From company signage to van livery, the brand’s identity is front and centre, reinforcing the professional image Mid-Warwickshire Cleaning Supplies has worked hard to build. It’s all about making a lasting impression, even when they’re on the move.

Signage and Literature: The Finishing Touches

From office signage to brochures, we ensured that every physical touchpoint reflected the brand’s new identity. Clear, concise, and professional, the signage now serves as an effective way of introducing customers to Mid-Warwickshire Cleaning Supplies. And when it comes to their literature, we gave it a sleek, polished look that communicates both reliability and expertise.

The Result? A Clean Breakthrough.

What started as a desire to refresh their image ended up transforming Mid-Warwickshire Cleaning Supplies into a brand that stands out in the market for all the right reasons. With a comprehensive brand overhaul that included a new logo, packaging, website, van livery, and more, we’ve helped elevate their professional image to match the exceptional service they provide.

So, if you’re looking to refresh your own brand or need help making your products stand out, we’d love to help. Whether it’s a full brand revamp or a small design tweak, we know how to deliver impactful design solutions that resonate with customers.

And hey, if we can make cleaning supplies look this good, imagine what we can do for you.

How to Design Packaging for Bulk or Wholesale Products: A Guide for Business Owners

Industry News 14th March 2025

Infographic showing key considerations for designing packaging for wholesale: materials, product protection, and ease of use for customers.

When it comes to packaging for bulk or wholesale products, it’s about much more than eye-catching design (although that’s certainly important). It’s about creating a solution that’s practical, cost-effective, and efficient for your business and your customers. And let’s face it, no one wants packaging that’s more trouble than it’s worth – especially when you’re dealing with large quantities. So, let’s break down the key considerations for designing packaging that does the heavy lifting for you.

1. Cost-Effectiveness is Everything

Let’s be honest – bulk packaging needs to be economical. But that doesn’t mean you need to sacrifice quality for the sake of price. The trick is finding the right balance. At PHd Design, we’ve seen plenty of businesses get hung up on trying to cut costs too far, only to end up with packaging that doesn’t do its job.
Think about the material: corrugated cardboard often gets the thumbs-up for bulk packaging. It’s durable, affordable, and can handle the rigours of transport without falling apart. But don’t skimp on the overall design – your packaging should still reflect the quality of your product and brand. After all, cost-effective doesn’t have to mean low-effort.

2. The Practical Side: Safety First

While your bulk packaging has to look good, it also needs to protect your product. Whether you’re shipping bottles, bags, or something a little more fragile, your packaging should be tough enough to withstand the bumps and knocks of transportation.
It’s all about the design – get the dimensions right, use strong materials, and if necessary, include dividers or cushioning to ensure everything stays safe. As we’ve helped businesses like Lioncroft Wholesale (who had specific needs for bulk product packaging), we understand how essential it is to balance protection with practicality. Check out our work with Lioncroft Wholesale here.

3. Space-Saving and Shelf Efficiency

Bulk products tend to take up more space, and that’s just something you need to deal with. But packaging doesn’t have to mean wasted space. In fact, great bulk packaging makes the most of the room you have available – both on shelves and in storage.
Look at stackability and efficiency. Is your packaging designed to fit neatly together? Can it be stored in a way that maximises space without causing any headaches? Bigger isn’t always better, but bigger can be effective if done right. Plus, don’t forget the importance of making your packaging easy to handle, store, and move around.

4. Sustainability – Because It Matters

Everyone’s talking about sustainability these days, and for good reason. Consumers, businesses, and even your competitors are starting to take a closer look at how packaging impacts the planet. The good news is that you don’t have to choose between eco-friendly and cost-effective – there are plenty of sustainable materials that are just as durable (and affordable) as the traditional options.
If you’re looking to reduce your environmental footprint, think about using recyclable or biodegradable materials. Not only will it help the environment, but it’ll also resonate with your customers who value sustainability.

5. Branding – Yes, It’s Still Important

When you’re designing bulk packaging, it’s easy to focus on the practical side and forget about your brand. But here’s the thing: your bulk packaging is still an extension of your brand. Just because you’re shipping products in large quantities doesn’t mean you shouldn’t aim for recognition.
Make sure your logo, colours, and design elements are visible. Even if your packaging won’t sit on retail shelves, it will still be handled by people who need to know who you are. Whether it’s in a warehouse or at a distribution centre, you want your brand to stand out. After all, packaging is often the first touchpoint your customers will have with your product, so make it memorable.

6. The Customer Experience

Lastly, think about how your customer will interact with the packaging. Bulk packaging often gets opened in warehouses or distribution centres, but that doesn’t mean it should be a hassle. Consider ease of access – will your customer need scissors to open it, or will it slide open with ease?
Small touches, like a handle or resealable feature, can make all the difference in ensuring the packaging is as functional as it is attractive. Remember, great packaging is all about making the experience as smooth as possible for your customer.

At PHd Design, we’ve spent over 30 years helping businesses create packaging that not only works but shines. From the design process to practical considerations, we understand what makes packaging great. And if you’re in the wholesale or bulk business, we’ve got the know-how to help. For instance, our recent work with Lioncroft Wholesale involved designing packaging that was both practical and on-brand for their bulk products. The result? Packaging that’s functional, eye-catching, and cost-effective. Take a look at the full case study here.

How We Helped Russou To Stand Out From The Crowd

Our Work 7th March 2025

Russou marketing brochure designed by PHd Design, featuring fresh branding and a modern layout.

When Russou, a property services consultancy specialising in tech solutions, sought to relaunch their brand ahead of a key industry event, they knew a fresh, standout identity was essential. With their competitors also vying for attention, they needed a bold rebrand to ensure they made an impact. That’s where we came in—tasked with creating a design that would help them not only compete but stand out with confidence.

Understanding the Brief

Russou’s goal was clear: they wanted to relaunch their brand in a way that would not only resonate with their target audience but also reflect the cutting-edge services they provide. With a major industry event on the horizon, they knew they had to get their branding just right—no second chances for first impressions!

We were tasked with creating a logo that would immediately convey professionalism, innovation, and approachability, while helping them compete in a crowded field. Along with the logo, Russou needed a temporary holding page for their website, printed materials, business cards, exhibition stands, and pull-up banners—all of which would make a big impact at the event.

The Design Process: From Ideas to Impact

To start, we got to know Russou’s core values and vision. We understood that this rebrand wasn’t just about creating something that looked good; it was about positioning them as a forward-thinking, professional business in an ever-evolving industry.

With the client’s brief in mind, we crafted a sleek and modern logo that paired a bold, distinctive ‘R’ with the company name and descriptor, Russou Services Group. The choice of colours—dark blue and an inviting teal—helped to convey trustworthiness, professionalism, and innovation. This wasn’t just a logo; it was the face of a new era for Russou, one that they could proudly showcase at the event.

From there, we designed a range of supporting materials. The temporary holding page provided visitors with a polished first glance at Russou’s new look, while the printed materials—business cards, brochures, and exhibition stands—ensured their brand would have maximum visibility at the event. Those pull-up banners? They were designed to be unmissable, providing impactful, clear messaging that highlighted Russou’s tech-savvy approach to property services.

Event Day: A Winning Relaunch

The event itself was a huge success. With competitors presenting their best, Russou’s fresh branding stood out like a beacon, thanks to the clean, modern aesthetic we had developed together. The new logo, paired with the exhibition materials and business cards, gave their brand a cohesive, professional presence that resonated with everyone who interacted with it.

The owner of Russou couldn’t have been happier with the results, and feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. The striking new look and consistent messaging made an immediate impact, positioning Russou as a forward-thinking, innovative business that is ready to lead in its field.
